Putahracsa - Hua Hin

Putahracsa - Hua Hin : A Message from the Owner, velvadi Sritrairatana on the History of the Putahracsa Property

The original owner of the land on which Putahracsa has been built, was my grandmother, Khun Ying Supatra Singholaka, who served under the royal court of his majesty, King Rama VI. When she bought this land, she named it Baan Budhalaksa. She then had bungalows built and rented them out to the local people. When my grandmother passed awa, my mother inherited it and bestowed it upon to me to manage. I tumed it into a 5 star resort, keeping the original name in memory of my grandmother. Thus the name Putahracsa Hua Hin.

Rabbit Resort of Thailand

Rabbit Resort More than 30 years ago, our father purchased the 10 Rai (4 Acres) of ocean front land near Pattaya, Thailand, Where Rabbit Resort now sits. As owners, we had a choice to build a high-rise structure or charming Thai-style beach holiday homes where our guests could stay and relax in style and comfort.

We chose to build a quaint Thai Village Resort with only 45 resort suites; after all, Bangkok is little more than an hour away! Extensive emphasis was placed upon the lush flowering gardens incorporating two stunning, free form Rabbit Pools. No expense was spared throughout the resort in order to offer the best environmentally conscious development.

We are proud to offer you our unique and distinctive luxury accommodation in the Pattaya area of Thailand, several paces off Dongtan Beach in Jomtien. Whether you are looking for a honeymoon or hideaway resort, plan to have a wedding or conference, or want to stay forever, Rabbit Resort is waiting to hear from you.

General travel information about Thailand

General travel information about Thailand
Many people when arriving in Thailand, do not really know what to expect, and know very little about the country and the people. However once they have been to Thailand once or twice, they will be sure to return, it is a kingdom that offers many marvels of undiscovered enchantment. With surprises and delights around every corner your trip to Thailand will open your eyes to a new world.

On this site we offer you accommodation such as hotels in Thailand with some very special rates, restaurant, bar, and transport reviews so that you can have an insiders idea of where to go and what to do in Thailand once you arrive. We offer you shopping tips, apartment options if you don't feel like staying in a hotel, guides to where you can connect to the internet and how much they cost. What you can do in Thailand from a tourist perspective, and much, much more.

On this page we give you a little insight into Thailand and the People, a little lesson if you like into the history of this amazing country and its dynamic and beautiful people.

Thailand covers an area of 513,115 sq. km. in the heart of South East Asia, and shares its borders with Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, the Gulf of Thailand and the Indian Ocean.

Thailand itself is broken onto four natural regions, a) The North b) The Central Plain or the Chao Phraya River Basin c) The North East (Korat Plateau) and d) The South or Southern Peninsula.

The Northern region is mountainous and full of forests, ridges and spectacular valleys, the main city of this region is Chiang Mai, a very popular tourist destination.

The Central Plain, a rich valley is the most fertile and extensive rice producing area of Thailand, and has often been named the 'Rice Bowl of Asia'. This is the region where Bangkok, the capital of Thailand is situated.

The Southern peninsula is a gem unto itself not only for the beauty of its beaches and landscape, but also as this is where many ores and minerals are to be found. The landscape is hilly to mountainous with lush virgin forests. This is also where the main rubber producing take place, and the cultivation of many other tropical crops.

But who are the Thai people and where did they come from ? It was originally thought that the Thai people may orginate from the north-eastern Szechuan Province of China about 4,500 years ago before they migrated to their present homeland. This idea though has recently be put into question by the amazing discovery of pre-historic artifacts such as bronze metallurgy dating back some 3,500 thousand years. These artifacts were found in the village of Ban Chiang in the Nong Han District of Udon Thani Province in the Northeast. These amazing finds, indicate that the Thais may well have originated in Thailand, and themselves moved into other areas of Asia.

Thailand until 1939 was known as Siam, and again between 1945 and 49, but May 11, 1949 put an end to the confusion and Thailand became officially known as 'Prathet Thai' or Thailand. For anyone who has been to Thailand they will not be surprised to learn the word 'Thai' means free so Thailand actually means The Land of the Free.

The population of Thailand is around 60,000,000 with an annual growth rate of around 1.3%. Although there is absolute religious freedom 95% of the Thai people follow Buddhism, and the King of Thailand under constitution and practice is patron of all religions embraced by the people.

Thailand is a hot and rather humid tropical country. In fact many people living in Thailand joke that it has three seasons, hot, hotter and hottest - this is easily believed. The climate is monsoonal, marked by a rainy season lasting from about May to September and a relatively dry season for the remainder of the year. The rainy season will amaze many a tourist as it can rain very heavily sometimes for up to just 10 minutes a go, but the sheer volume of water is incredible. Temperatures are highest in March and April and 'lowest' in December and January. The average temperature is about 23 to 35 Celsius.

One of the most beautiful aspects of the Thai people is their respect and enormous love for their monarchy. It is very unwise and actually could lead to serious trouble to say anything bad about the monarchy. They are loved dearly, and you will never hear a Thai utter a bad word.

The National Flag of Thailand is composed of five horizontal bands of red, white and blue. The outer red bands of red represent the nation, and the inner bands of white evoking religion. The blue band, which occupies one third of the flag is symbolizes the monarchy. This tri coloured flag was first designed by King Vajirauadh (Rama VI) in 1917, and it succeeded and earlier design which had a white elephant on a red background.

Thailand truly is an amazing place, with so much to offer tourists. The regular and most popular destinations of Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Samui, Chiang Mai etc are only a small part of the country, and there are so many more undiscovered charms to be found.

THAILAND - ONE OF THE WORLD'S TOP-10 DIVE DESTINATIONS

Travel & Tourism,Entertainment,Camping
THAILAND – ONE OF THE WORLD’S TOP-10 DIVE DESTINATIONS Although they are no longer a secret to the diving community, Thailand’s marine attractions remain among the best-loved in Asia. Here are some reasons why… Natural history Undersea pinnacles host large pelagic fish, rays and whale sharks Reefs feature a great diversity of corals, fish and other marine life, especially along the Andaman coastline Feeding this diversity are mangrove forests, which protect coastlines, and serve as nurseries for marine fish and other animals Sea grass beds stretching along the Andaman coastline from Ranong to Satun, as well as in the Gulf of Thailand, provide critical habitat for dugongs and marine turtles REEF STABILITY AND HEALTH Thailand reefs are more stable than reefs in some other parts of Asia. The impact of the 2004 tsunami were limited to 13 per cent of Thailand's reefs. Dynamic Change of Coral Reefs in the Andaman Sea, Thailand Findings from a study undertaken by the Phuket Marine Biological Center in Phuket, Thailand to monitor the long-term status of coral reefs in the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the pattern of dynamic change of the reefs and causes of change. Proportions of live/dead coral cover provide a visual indicator of reef health in the Andaman Sea. Please click to expand Sixty study sites were grouped into 3 regions. North – offshore Transect sites at Surin Islands group and the Similan Islands group Central – near shore Transect sites in Phuket (at North and South Patong) and Phi Phi Islands South – offshore Transect sites at the Adang-Rawi Islands group Data collected from permanently marked transects on the upper reef slopes at these 60 locations revealed the following findings. 30 of reef sites showed damage from environmental factors followed by good recovery 31.7 of sites were damaged by the tsunami and are predicted to show recovery within the next 3-10 years if conditions remain favourable for reef growth. ACCESSIBILITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE Thailand’s position at the geographic crossroads of Asia makes it both a travel hub and destination. The marine realm is very accessible with international and domestic connections to dive take-off points at Phuket, Ranong, Krabi, Trang, Satun and Koh Samui. Diving in Thailand is possible year-round, with Andaman Sea sites accessible during November to May, and Gulf of Thailand sites available in other months. A plethora of registered dive businesses makes organizing dive tours easy, certification possible for beginners, and specialty instruction (e.g. deep water, wreck, nitrox diving) available to advanced divers. A Google search on the words “diving courses Thailand” returns 2,060,000 links. Story by Antony J. Lynam Hotel in Phuket Thailand visit http://www.hotel2thailand.org/phuket-hotels.html

Muay Thai training camps in Thailand

by Shin Chang

Are you a Muay Thai aspirant? Want to master the Muay Thai techniques, and make it big in this fabulous game? Well, it is better you arrange for joining one of the various Muay Thai training camps in Thailand, as soon as possible.

Why Thailand?
You may ask - "Why Thailand?" Ofcourse it is a valid question. Muay Thai is now an international craze, with suitable training infrastructure in various countries. So what is so special about Thailand?

Because, the game has a special position in Thailand

Today Muay Thai might have spread its wings to various countries, with top class Muay Thai training camps in those countries.
However, the status of Muay Thai in Thailand is still very very special. For obvious reasons. This great martial art not only originated in this country, but also enjoys a widespread mass popularity there. It has been for long that Muay Thai has been enjoying a demi-god status in Thailand, with virtually every Thai being just crazy about it.

The depth of the Thai peoples' passion about the game can be understood from two factors - the huge number of Muay Thai events in the country, and the level of popular craze that every such event enjoys.

Every successful Muay Thai fighter, whether from Thailand or other country, is revered like anything in the Thai society. As we all know that Muay Thai is now popular in several other countries, with the successful fighters enjoying high social status in those countries as well. However, in all probability, they are no match for the honor and respect enjoyed by Muay Thai fighters in Thailand.

A state-of-the-art training camp in another country can offer you all those facilities that a Muay Thai training camp in Thailand offer. But the factor that will give the latter an edge over the former is the ambience. The feeling that you are learning this great martial art in its land of origin itself is something that can charge you up like anything.

Moreover, the special status of the game and its players in the Thai society will also be a highly inspiring factor.

At every moment you will feel the depth of love and affection the Thai people have for this sport. This feeling will boost your own love and passion for Muay Thai to a great extent. That will make it easier for you to identify yourself with the game. The environment will teach you to eat, sleep and breathe Muay Thai. This will make success in training only a matter of time for you.

So get enrolled in one of the Muay Thai training camps in Thailand

So do not waste time anymore. Get yourself enrolled in one of the best Muay Thai training camps in Thailand. Start your dream training, and a dream life. Transform yourself into a new personality.

Will there be language problem in Thailand?

You might be wary of facing language and communication problem in Thailand, as you cannot speak Thai. Do not worry about it at all. On an average the Thai people are quite fluent in English. So you are least likely to have any sort of any language problem.

Sin Chang is a seasoned Muay Thai trainer who has been giving Muay Thai Training for quite some time. He is associated with a number of Muay Thai training camps in Thailand. He also occasionally writes articles - in magazines and newspapers - on various aspects of the game.

Learn Muay Thai Kickboxing

by Shin Chang
One great way to transform your personality for good is to learn muay thai kickboxing. It is a highly effective way to tap and boost all your hidden assets, while to shed off all the unpleasant habits, etc. that you may be having.

Let us study the Muay Thai training pattern. When you will go to learn muay thai, your training will have two broad divisions - a.) the body conditioning activities and b.) learning the actual Muay Thai techniques.

Why the body conditioning activities?

The basic objective of the Muay Thai training is to learn how to Muay Thai kickboxing. So this question might come in your mind that why you should go through body conditioning activities.

The reason is simple. Learning the actual Muay Thai techniques is a highly strenuous and physically demanding affair. The body conditioning activities help the trainee develop his physical and mental strength to the level that he is able to withstand that strain and hardships.

The constituents of the body conditioning activities

The main constituents of the body conditioning activities are as follows -

Running - You will have approximately 18 km running per day, divided into two slots with one each for the first and the second half. During both the halves the running will mark the beginning of other training programs.

Stretching ¬- There will be around 20-30 minutes of stretching exercises everyday. That will make your body highly receptive to the other exercises and training activities. Stretching exercises are crucial before activities that entail controlled muscular strength and flexibility. Other benefits of stretching exercises include muscular elasticity enhancement.

Shadow boxing - You have to practice shadow boxing most likely in front of a mirror. That will help you to observe and perfect your technique and aim the punches, elbows, knees, and kick at your own figure. Shadow boxing is extremely helpful in preparing your muscles before stronger physical activities.

Bag work - You will have to practice kicks on a heavy bag for around 60 minutes per day. This will help you a lot to develop conditioning and muscle memory (the body's ability to memorize or perform automatically a well rehearsed motion). Another great benefit of bag work is the development of shins.

Practicing with Thai pad - Thai pad practicing is the central point of Muay Thai training. It will help you to practice punches, kicks, knees and elbow strikes.

Rope jumping/skipping - On one hand it warms up your body. On the other hand it helps you develop your stamina and co-ordination.

Medicine ball (a.k.a. exercise ball, med ball, fitness ball) - The medicine ball will help you enhance the strength of your abdominal muscles.

Speed ball/bag - It will help you to intensify your punching skills, including hand-eye coordination, rhythm and timing.

Double end bag (a.k.a floor-ceiling bag, crazy bag, reflex bag) - The double end bag - hooked up by two thin elastic ropes to the ceiling and floor - is used as a good equipment for target practice and timing equipment.

Weight training - The weight training exercises aim at developing the strength and size of your skeletal muscles. It will actually have a positive effect for your overall health.

Body weight resistance exercises - It will include push-ups, squats, squat thrusts, pull-ups, dips, etc. They will result in developing your athleticism (balance, body control, co-ordination).

Weight loss - a main benefit of the body conditioning activities

One of the main benefits of the body conditioning activities will be a huge weight loss. The tough physical exercises will help you to shed every bit of extra weight.

The other benefits of the Muay Thai training as a whole -

The other benefits of the Muay Thai training as a whole include the followings -

Diet regime - You have to follow a strict diet regime while you learn muay thai kickboxing. And naturally it will have various positive results. For example, it will also help you a lot in shedding your weight. Moreover, a healthy diet is also helpful for other health matters like cholesterol factors, etc.

De-addiction - While you learn how to Muay Thai kickboxing, you will have to stay away from all sorts of addictions like alcohol, smoking, etc. This will effectively help you to de-addict all sorts of addictions you have, if any.

Self-defense skills - The Muay Thai training will teach you some great self-defense skills. These skills will be a great asset for you, even if you never compete in any Muay Thai fight.
Sound physique - A significant outcome of the training will be a great and enviable physique. That is undoubtedly an asset irrespective of your profession, lifestyle, etc.

An extreme self-confidence - Mastering the tough Muay Thai techniques will elevate your self-confidence to an extreme height. You will discover your hidden power, and will recognize the real potential and talent that you stand for.

So you can see how beneficial it is for you to learn muay thai kickboxing. It not only trains you in a great martial art, but also presents you with various other positive sides. It helps you to discover your real talent and power.

It helps you to develop highly beneficial habits (like an effective diet) while cutting down harmful habits like smoking, alcohol, etc.

In a nutshell, it gives you a new, dazzling personality ensuring a new life. From a so-called ordinary person, you turn into an outstanding and attractive personality.

So do not waste your time anymore. Enroll yourself with a good Muay Thai training school, and start learning this great invention of mankind.

Formerly a regular participant of the Muay Thai events, Shin Chang is presently associated with training and instructing the Muay Thai aspirants. He always encourages youths to learn Muay Thai kickboxing by writing articles in print media, TV talk, etc.

Muay Thai Kickboxing - History and Overview

by David Di Cristo

Whilst still very much a sport based in Thailand, Muay Thai Boxing is now gaining acceptance in America and the rest of the western world, with local and international tournaments hosted a lot more frequently. The Thai fighters are very tough opponents to beat due to their technique and conditioning, however the rest of the world is catching up, claiming victories against some of Thais best.

Modern Muay Thai fights are fought in a ring, very similar to the western boxing matches. Perhaps the most attractive and interesting aspect of Muay Thai is the crowd of spectators that gathers to see a match. With techniques including kicks, punches and the extensive use of knees and elbows, Muay Thai is often referred to as the science of 8 limbs.

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and it dates back 3000 years Muay Thai was used by the Thai military for unarmed combat training. Many modern Muay Thai fighters have taken up the sport as a career path. I think it has gained such popularity, especially in Thailand, because many Thai national people saw it as a way to make a good living if they were successful at it. You have to remember the average income in Thailand is pretty low, so the attraction to earn a lot more money doing something they love and are good at was strong.

Fighting Strategies of Muay Thai is the first book to reveal actual fighting strategies and tactics as taught in the boxing camps in Thailand. As you may expect, the conditioning regimen in Muay Thai is legendary for its intensity and rigorous demands. This is an age old question; which fighting style is better? Everyone who practices Muay Thai will say Muay Thai is better and the same with Karate.

Muay Thai kickboxing is no longer a mans sport, with many women nowadays coming to boxing gyms to train for fights, get fit, tone up and learn self defense. Muay Thai is not about throwing wild punches. It teaches crisp strikes that are fast and dangerous. If you have watched a Muay Thai fight in real life or on TV, you would know that while Muay Thai is famous for its leg kicks, the great fighters turn to the neck kick for knockout power. The key to beating the opponent in a Muay Thai fight is shin kicks, delivered in roundhouses to the legs, ribs, and head.

Thai Massage

Massage is the cornerstone of traditional Thai health care. Its practitioners call it can cure 63 dysfunctions of the nervous, skeletal and musculars systems - everything from nerve pan to migraine. There is evidence that Thai massage pattern was first introduced in the ancient capital of Ayutthaya in 1690. Simon de la Loubere, French envoy to the Royal Court Of Siam and wrote in 1690, "When someone is ill in Siam, he has his body worked on by someone skilled in this art who walks all over him".

Thai massage has a positive effect on muscle tone; it increases blood curculation and reactivates the nerves, making breathing easier and stronger. It's and effective physical therapy for people who suffer from paralysis. Reflexology which is a method of applying pressure to the nerve endings on the soles of the feet, is said to improve the energy flow to miscellaneous body's organs, promoting natural healing. The Ministry of Public Health in Thailand, in cooperation with other authorities concerned, promotes Health Care Tourism. Thai massage and reflexology are included in the certification program which is called "Tour Thailand for Thai Traditional Treatment". Wat Phra Chetuponwimonmangkalaram ( Wat Pho ), is well-known as the first recognized original Thai massage school. Thai massage is also combined with herbal therapy through the use of hot compresses. The heat, the herbs, and the massage make sore, stiff muscles a memory. Herbal baths and saunas are wonderful for cleansing and refreshing the skin. Aromatic oils from the herbal essences are able to transport one to a world of relaxation now.

Thai massage is a traditional form of massage therapy that has been used in Thailand for centuries. In Thailand, it is called "Nuad Phaen Boran" which means 'ancient massage'. It is based on the Indian medical system of Ayurveda and incorporates many ancient Indian Yogic techniques.

How does Thai Massage work

Thai massage combines elements of Shiatsu, Yoga, and acupressure. It aims to clear blockages in the energy meridians of the body by applying a healing touch to the affected pressure points. Once these blockages are removed, energy flows freely throughout the body and this leads to relief from ailments and overall improved physical and mental health. The technique of soft touching and stretching also frees the tension in the limbs and muscles and brings about pain relief and improves flexibility.

A typical massage session lasts for about two hours. The massage is administered on mat or firm mattress kept on the floor. The patient changes into his or her pajamas and lies down on this mat. The practitioner will then follow a pre-determined sequence of massage steps that involve the use of hands, elbows and feet. The massage follows the flow of the energy meridians on the patient's body. A number of techniques such as soft pressure, pulling fingers and toes, walking on the patient's back and gentle stretching are used to free the blockages in these meridians. Oil is normally not applied during the therapy session. At the end of the massage session, both the receiver and the therapist feel relaxed and energized.

Benefits of Thai Massage

Thai massage is a holistic massage therapy that focuses on the body as a whole. By recognizing the inter-dependence of all the systems of the body, it aims to cure ailments by bringing all these various elements into harmony with each other. By removing blockages in the energy meridians, it promotes an increase in the energy levels of the patient. This soothing massage therapy also helps to calm the mind and remove stress from the body and mind of the patient. The soft physical pressure and stretching techniques bring about pain relief, relieve muscular tension, and increase the flexibility of the muscles and limbs. It also helps in harmonizing imbalances in the nervous system. Thai massage also improves blood and lymph circulation. The holistic approach used ensures that the patient enters a state of deep relaxation and refreshes the spirit.
